Cooking on "the Amanda Show"
Children enjoy cooking and even though they don't always like the product they appreciate the process. Cooking fosters a child's sense of competence and independence when they can do it. Math skills play a big role in the cooking show as children count and measure, refining our small motor skills as we stir, dice, and science as we add ingredients, observe changes and cook the final product. I add a twist on this special show, changing my voice to an English accent and being very silly!! Anytime we do something with food the children say "use your silly voice"
